Analyst: Bitcoin Futures Leverage Surges in August, Market Volatility and Liquidation Risk Rise
BlockBeats News, August 13th, CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr posted that in August 2025, the Bitcoin Futures Estimated Leverage Ratio (ELR) 30-day change reached the highest level in the past five years, exceeding the critical value of +0.4. Previously, this threshold has typically occurred at peak periods of high leverage and increased market fragility.
This implies that near historical price highs, a significant and rapid influx of leveraged positions occurs in the futures market, potentially leading to increased market volatility and heightened risks of severe liquidation events.
